Wooden Ships and Iron Men, Plus: Enchanting Lana‘i

GoNomad.com’s Max Hartshorne joins Paul and Elizabeth to celebrate one of the world’s most popular novelists, Patrick O’Brian, author of such classic seafaring sagas as Master and Commander and The Far Side of the World.

Max reports on an article by GoNomad senior writer Rich Grant that reveals what life was like aboard those wooden vessels of yore, as well as showing where you can visit some of the ships from that era.

Hartshorne also takes us to Lana‘i, a Hawaiian island with a rich, multicultural history, beautiful landscapes, and mystery. Parts of the island are said to be haunted, says writer Noreen Kompanik in the GoNomad article, and Paul and Elizabeth, who have visited several times, agree that Lana‘i is enchanting.
