The Man Who Knew Infinity, Plus: In Search of the Holy Grail

Everything-Everywhere.com’s Gary Arndt joins Paul and Elizabeth to reveal the remarkable story of Srinivasa Ramanujan, the Indian mathematician many say was the greatest mathematician of the 20th century. Robert Kanigel chronicled his life in the 1991 book The Man Who Knew Infinity: A Life of the Genius Ramanujan, and a film based on the book came out in 2015 starring Dev Patel as Ramanujan and Jeremy Irons as British mathematician G.H. Hardy, with whom Ramanujan collaborated in England.

Gary also takes us to Valencia, Spain, where the Holy Grail is said to reside in the Valencia Cathedral. Is the story of the grail simply the result of Arthurian legend, or is there some basis for the idea that this simple agate cup was the vessel Christ Jesus drank from at the Last Supper? Tune in to learn more.
